Candy: It's the New Plush!

Grey may be the new black*, but at Disney parks, it seems like candy is the new plush. The tables and tables of plush have shrunk, and this has made way for CANDY!

This makes the Floridian LoT-ers very very happy. At least, the ones I know. (HTHBellcaptain may have a lot of plush, but he surely spends more on candy in a year than he has on plush in his lifetime.)

You Disneylanders should have this stuff, too. Most of it has the generic "Disneyland-Walt Disney World" dealie on it.

The best of the bunch is the 2-RRRRRIFIC PEANUT BUTTER CUPS. Endorsed, apparently, by Tigger himself, these are just like Reese's peanut butter cups. Only like a gazillion times BETTER!

The Fruit Gems (seven dwarfs, isn't that clever?) are like Mentos. Acceptable, but they have no chocolate, so I can think of better ways to spend my money.

Despite that the Chocolate Caramel Bar has a picture of Stitch on it (I'm all Stitched-out right now), this is really good. Like a Caramello.

The gang (of flying good guys) from Peter Pan are on the wrapper of the Milk Chocolate Toffee Bar.

There's also Peanut Caramel Clusters, with Lion King and Queen on them. I haven't tried this one yet.

Oh, and the Fantasia "themed" peppermint patty.

What's best about this stuff is that it's good quality stuff. By now, I'd've expected lousy quality stuff from Disney (like all that waxy Goofy's Kitchen junk). The chocolate, even though it's MILK chocolate (except in the dark chocolate bar, which is acceptable but somewhat uninteresting compared to the others) is actually quite good.

So, kudos (not the granola bar) to Disney for getting some good candy in. If nothing else, it's sure to make more money than plush. Right??

*Writer of this post professes to know nothing of what the fashion world thinks the "new black" actually is, but thinks that black is black and that's probably for the best.

I just wrote reviews of candy bars. I'm such a nerd.

*BETTER* than Reese's peanut butter cups? That's it -- I'm packing an extra suitcase just for the candy (because they won't ship, the bastiches!)

Even when you suck on them, plushies last too long. Candy gets eaten up so you come back for more and more and more, Ca Ching!

Prudence: Come to Florida . . . the candy is calling . . . Mmmm . . . peanut butter . . . *drool* . . .

Are you sure this is not some ploy to have us all eat salty licorice frogs?

Prudence 10-11-2005 07:20 PM

Arg! I can't get to Florida until May! It's not faaaaaaiiiiir!

I got 6 blocks of fudge at work today (3 vanilla/chocolate, 3 Oreo Cookies N Creme) - it's so nice having freshly made candy less than 50 feet from your workspace; when the wind blows right, I can smell the chocolatey goodness.

I'm probably gonna bring home some chocolate dipped strawberries on Thursday (anniversary present) :D

Hmm, better pay more attention next time we breeze through Main Street...
