Tells us Again About your Swank Tunes

Well, it happend again. We were early for Dinner, so we stopped off at our favoirite used records store, Fingerprints. Of course, having resisted the urge to buy for so long, and cheapness of "used" spurred quite a buying bonanza. We picked up:
  • Verve Remixed3 - The third volume in remixing some Verve greats
  • Lali Puna - I thought I was over that - contemplative german electronica
  • Talking Heads - Stop Making Snese - Live tracks from their best tour ever
  • Gary Numan - Replicas - A nostalgic retrofit of my vinyl collection, I loved this guy when I was in high school
  • The Creatures - HA!! - Big Drums and Soiuxsie vocals
  • New York Dolls - Live from Royal Festival Hall - Rding another nostalgia wave, but great live tracks from one of the best urpunk bands out there
  • Christmas Remixed - Becasue everyone needs a DJ remix X-mas album
  • Madness - The Dangermen Session - Old School Ska classics
  • JPop CD - Becasue everyone needs a little Happy now and then
To top off the extravagent evening though, I CP & GD brought me back a Parisian find, Katarine - Robots aprés tout - which includes a video bonus of creeping robotic trans-gendered Frenchmen. It of course rocks.

So what have you added to you collection lately?

Jesse McCartney.

(For Tori- really!)

You didn't mention that we found all of that in under 1/2 hour. It makes me shiver to think what would've happened if we had more time.

Oh, and you missed Shonen Knife - "Let's Knife" - it was on my new, expansive desk.

Just picked up the Brian Setzer Swingin' Christmas Album. On sale at Fry's for like $10. Still need to get Diana Krall.

I have an accidental iTunes purchase that has surprised me.

Somehow, I ended up with a Skinny Puppy remix album. Never been into Skinny Puppy, though I have vague recollections of playing them when I was in college radio some 20 years ago.

Not sure how I ended up with the album (I don't remember clicking the "OK" button in the "are you sure?" window). But I now own it. So I figured, I paid my hard earned money (well, someone else's since I am still working off a gift card), I might as well check it out.

Kinda cool industrial-strength stuff that helps relieve some aggressions on the drive home (although it must be played at 11*)

* Spinal Tap reference that will go right over NA's head.

No, I don't get the movie reference but I know and love Skinny Puppy. Actually, there's better noisy angst to be had, but I like SP.

Where is this used record store located?

I need to be introduced to some new music. I love Chicago, as you all well know, but I need some new stuff too. (New Chi album next year) I lwas breezing through some Ska at the local Warehouse Music, but am unsure what would be "worth it."
