The Tortoise and the Hippo

It isn't the traditional fairy tale, but this pair's story is funny, touching and a bit sad in its own right.
A baby Kenyan hippo, orphaned when the tsunami struck his homeland, was brought to a rescue facility where he has adopted a male giant tortoise as his new "mother." The full story is here: http://www.theage.com.au/news/World/...834656828.html |
For anyone else who might think .. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.. besides NA and I, here's the official link.
LaFarge ecosystems This site has a daily diary, as well as a very cool 45 page dowloadable pdf book. That I WILL be downloading for my son as soon as I get home! Thank you so much, what a cool story. (Hey, and NA, I was speaking for you, so no offense. I just thought you would see the cuteness factor I did.) |
Goodness, even I see the cuteness factor - as well as the joyfull absurdity of nature factor. I dig this story!

Okay, that's just too cute. They don't even have fur*, and yet they are so cute! I love this story- thanks, Tom!:snap:
*I generally gravitate toward furry cuteness, like with kitties and puppies. |
OMG I haven't even read the whole story and I'm in love! First of all, i LOVE Hippos. Chris bought be a stuffed Hippo (named Bertold) one day as a suprise. He's the only stuffed animal that lives in the house. So, I'm hippo-prone anyways. I can't wait to read the rest of the story. Chris gave me a run-down and I can't believe it. Poor little guy!
OK. I'm done gushing for now. FOR NOW  |
