Bubbles: Now in Color!
 

Popular Science has a feature about the Best of What's New in 2005. Of particular interest to me were the Ascadia Zubbles."Traditional clear soap bubbles give you a rainbow effect in the right light, Zubbles are the first truly colored bubbles—nearly opaque, with a single vibrant hue." Check out the aforementioned link for a picture of the festive bubbles as well as ideas for other uses of the product.

Those are SOOOO cool!

The only thing that is bothersome is the 'minutes to hours' it takes for the dye to 'disappear' -- but I guess that's why bubbles are an 'outside' toy!

After letting the kid use pop-resistant bubbles in the house and subsequently having to clean the thick film off of carpets and walls, bubbles are now an outside play item.

I want some of those colored ones!!!!!!

Holy crap, after four years of development hell, Zubbles are finally available!

"Colored bubbles"? I believe they prefer the terms "bubbles of color" or "Soapy Americans".




I watched the video. I noticed that it barely showed any of the kids actually blowing the bubbles, and the few it did show were failing. Seems they're best suited to bubble blowing machines rather than lung power.

I recent threw out a whole bunch of color bubbles that I'd had forever. I used to stockpile them, because they were hard to find. They weren't individually colored bubbles, but highly rainbow colored bubbles and they were so cool.

I don't think I'd even like a bottle of bubbles that was all blue, for instance. It would have to be a bottle where I could blow different colors, for a rainbow effect in a bunch of blown bubbles.

All green would be neet, but no cigar.

The video with the kids is over four years old. The video on this page is current and shows an adult blowing Zubbles with what appears to be very little effort.

Yeah, they are awfully spendy. Hopefully they can bring that price down when/if they mass produce them.

ok, the 'it disappears when it dries' part could be great for practical jokes....IF it actually vanishes.

if not, then it'd be great for getting sued for dry cleaning charges.
