Madonna's new album rules pop charts

Quote:

Venerable pop icon Madonna danced to the top of the U.S. pop album charts for the sixth time in her career on Wednesday with her third consecutive No. 1 release, "Confessions on a Dance Floor."

Her Warner Bros. disc sold nearly 350,000 copies in the week ended November 20, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and ranks as her third-largest sales week in the tracking firm's 14-year history.

The album and its single "Hung Up" also are No. 1 on the respective British charts. The single is in the top-10 of the U.S. charts (#7).

Not sure about that. But I think zappp has friends in high places. It seems Madonna named a song after him on her new album. Track #10: Isaac.

Eh... Madonna's just a one hit wonder. A passing fad I tell ya.

Now *Joyce*; THAT'S a star!

Gaaaahd! Enough with Joyce. Everywhere I look: Joyce! I say Joyce Shmoyce. I can't turn on the TV without hearing about Joyce. Talk about overkill.

And how she managed to get her way into the film version of 'Rent', I'll never know...

:D

But do you like the album?

I finally got around to listening to clips on amazon and once again she just hits "agreeable mainstream" for me. Ah well.

I'm lovin it. It's much better than American Life (which I haven't listened to in over a year now). Surprisingly, Steve is growing fond of the album & a few days ago said he wanted a copy.

Woot!
