Some times the oddest things happen to me...
So yesterday while out with my coworker for lunch, we were driving out of a parking lot and I happened to notice a gentleman driving into the parking lot. I, liking what I saw, gave him a smile. Didn't really think anything about it except "Wow, he was cute". A few minutes later while in a drive thru this same gentleman came up to my coworkers car and the conversation went something like this...
Guy "Hey are you single" Me "Who me or her?" Guy "You" Me (yey for me) "Yea why?" Smile Guy "Why are you single?" Me (ok that's a personal question) "Well I broke up with my ex this time last year which is why I'm single. Why do you want to know" Guy "O just curious" Me "Well my name's Teena, what's your name" Guy "Name, nice to meet ya" and proceeds to walk away. Me "HEY! Where you going??" Guy disappears back into the sea of men without a response. So did I mention that it was weird?? What I'd like to know is what the hell was that about? I mean if your gonna make the play for someone, even if you're disappointed or something, wouldn't you at least make the effort to ask for a number. You go outta your way but you don't ask? Was I supposed to do it? I need an explanation here people! Do weird things happen to you? Why is that? |
my guess is hes seen you before and plans to again. he probably decided that wasnt the time or place or perhaps even decided to create what you just described. the 'hmmmm' factor.
and yeah, weird $h!t happens to me alot. I kinda dig it. |
What he said.
You'll see him again. Next time, he may act like he doesn't remember you, but he does. The next time, if you act like you don't remember him, he'll say something conversational- test the waters, see if you remember. It's a somewhat intriguing game, but if he's a player, you'll know. Whatever you do, if you're interested- let him think he's got it going. Play along and have fun.;) |
Weird stuff happens to me a lot, too
I've been referred to as the "Strange Vortex" for many years by my family. |

I just got a note passed on to me from a friend I had when I was 8. He saw me mentioned in one of Disney Daniel's photos - I think this is a record for me - probably 35 years have passed since I last saw him.

In a somewhat similar situation to E's...
When I moved to CA I got a temp job working for the company I happen to work for now, though there was time in between. During this first job, I was miserable. I was not long out of an awful relationship, I was far away from my family and friends, and I had a hard time making friends as a temp. For a few months, I shared a desk with someone on swing shift, who arrived just as I departed. We saw each other very little, but I sort of had a grasp on who he was because his office space was decorated with pictures of his kids at Disneyland, his computer wallpaper featured rotating pictures of the park. Since Disneyland had become the salve to my loneliness, I found his office space very comforting in the small amount of time I spent there. At the beginning of MiceAge, when I posted more there, I followed somebody's link to their Disney pictures, and lo and behold, it was that same person I shared a desk with. Feeling it was too weird a coincidence, I PMed him to ask him if we'd shared a desk. He did acknowledge that he worked for that company, on the floor I used to work on, but he had no memory of me so he must have thought I was a stalker or something. But I just wanted to thank him for the comforting Disney pictures in his office since they sort of helped me through a rough patch. I don't think he ever grasped this. |
