Inappropriate Song?

Quote:

Tampa, Florida - Like most Bucs fans, Bob Corry says he enjoyed Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints at Raymond James Stadium. Everything, except a song played over the stadium's loudspeakers at halftime.

Bob Corry, Offended By Song:
"The first song that I hear is 'Rock You Like a Hurricane' by The Scorpions and I thought to myself, 'Is it me, or is this just totally out of place and inappropriate?'"

The Bucs cheerleaders began their halftime show dancing to the song and Corry says he thought it showed a lack of sensitivity, considering what New Orleans residents went through last year following Hurricane Katrina.
Even I wouldn't play that song at a New Orleans Saints game...

Rest of the story here.

Puh-LEEZE! Doesn't anyone have a sense of humor anymore? I would laugh my ass off at that.

Stanford band has gotten into trouble for far-too-appropriate half time shows, as in potato famine jokes at the Fightin' Irish and spotted owl jokes in Oregon. I think everyone takes themselves far too seriously.

I'm offended because I heard CoasterMatt broke wind while posting this thread. That's insensitve to the Hurricane Katrina victims.

:D

Now I have Spinal Tap's "Break Like the Wind" running through my head.

You know, just because you THINK something is inappropriate doesn't mean it is. And just because something IS inapporpriate doesn't mean you have the right to be offended. Of course, you may choose to be offended, but I'm not sure anyone will care.

I'm not sure if I am reading this correctly, but one DOES have the right to be offended about anything they so desire (and bitch about it if they like). But just because one is offended doesn't mean that something automatically be done about it.

So one can be offended. And one (such as I and others) can not be offended and think the world needs to lighten up.

Such a wonderful world!

I would have come up with a whole disaster themed playlist.

Madonna - Drowned World
Heavenly Gospel Singers - Watery Grave
The Beatles - Help
Julie London - Cry Me A River
Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On

This could be fun!

Just because I think it might be an inappropriate song, doesn't mean I didn't laugh my ass off when I first read the story. :D

We just watched This Is Spinal Tap last night, too...

You are absolutely right and I worded that wrong. You can be offended about anything you like, however, that doesn't mean anyone will care. Or, even more appropriately, it doesn't mean I have to respond. Is that better?
