Punk's Not Dead
Where have I been? I just ran across this earlier tonight- too cool!
Punk's Not Dead- The Movie |
And here I though you were refering to this punk jewel.
|
Heh heh....I know, I read that yesterday and had a good laugh. Lydon's a frikken poser himself, though, so I've no doubt they are just being assholes about it because it gets press. Still, he's consistant.
Looking at the bands on the roster in the Punk movie- wouldn't that be the best, most volatile line-up ever? |
yay, The (International) Noise Conspiracy is interviewed. the singer was formerly in Refused. Love em. Hope he talks about there break up.
Damn, no Guttermouth or MxPx tho. oh well.. Thanks for the find. |
This is a pretty good overview of bands - even if there are a few I take exception with as "punk".
But,m damn, look at this list! http://www.punksnotdeadthemovie.com/...ast_bands.html |
Punk's not dead.
It's resting. And pining for the fjords. Sorry. That's all I could think about when I saw the thread title. I can move on with the rest of my day now. |

Hot Topic is not punk rock!
Sorry. Getting carried away. |

Modern punk style is so sterile and manufactured. I'm too punk to be punk. ;) |
If true Punk were to be carried out to it's natural conclusion, it wouldn't have made it past 1978. Of course anything that catches on with a large segment of the population is going to get commercialized- it's silly to suppose otherwise. So long as they continue to write the songs (especially the lyrics) that first got me going, I could care less. I love Green Day- I ignored them for the longest time, but the lyrics on this last album caught me and give me hope that the next generation won't be so unquestioning of authority. I had been very disenchanted with music for the past decade, and now I have reason to look past the 'oldies' stations and actually start buying cd's again.
