Dumb Disney DVD questions

The floodgates to my wallet have opened  and I am starting to build the Walt Disney Treasures DVD collections and other DVDs I've missed.

I've got the Tomorrowland DVD coming and on ebay I'm watching a Disneyland USA, which I intend to place a bid on.

My questions are, since I've been exposed primarily to Warner Brothers and have seen only a few Disney shorts collections, what should I aim for first? I'm drawn to the Silly Symphonies and the B/W Mickeys (which I've never seen more than a couple). I alos realize I'm going to be paying a premium for some of these since most are now out of print.

Is there a listing online of them and other Disney DVD releases? I've not googled myself yet, I'm going to be an a$$ and assume someone on LoT has a link or a list.

The other thing I am looking for and will likely pay the piper for is the Fantasia Anthology set.

I'm not so much interested in some of the live action, say Mickey Mouse Club, Spin & Marty and Davey Crockett DVDs. Call me a heritic if you will .

Now that I've been back to Disneyland....lookout and I guess I had better start putting in some OT to pay for all of this.

You can get a list on Amazon... :)
Disney Treasures Listing
For me, I had to have the stuff that was harder to find.
I love the Silly Symphony set, Behind the Scenes at Walt Disney Studio, and the B&W Mickey.

I did not buy Goofy, or Donald. Just my two cents.

I believe some of the "Treasures" have been available without the Tins at Costco for a dscounted price. That was a while ago so I'm not sure if they're still around, but it might be abother avenue to explore to avoid the $50+ price tag some of these tins are commanding.

Thanks! I've got no interest in Donald, Goofy or Pluto, either. I'm on board for a Behind the Scenes.

Thanks for the link.

Hmm, a costco on the way home, I may stop tonight and I will report on what I find, if anything.

Thanks!

I got the Silly Symphonies and Disneyland USA Tins at Costco (in the tins), but it was at least a couple of years ago. I haven't seen them there lately.

I know you're not interested, but I figured I should say that the only tin I own is the Donald one, and I love it.

No! Not that I'm not interested, even though I said that, I should rephrase, I'm under-exposed to Donald so this one is lower on the scale. I know Donald made his debt in The Band Concert short and there it ends! Besides, I value your opinion!

As I said, I've not got a lot of experience and exposure to the Disney shorts, so I'm seeking some guidance to which of these are the best of the lot. I can't see myself springing for all of them. So, I need to pick my battles, figuratively speaking.

Personally, my favorites are the Disneyland, Tomorrowland and Walt Disney Studio DVDs. The appeal to my historical interests more than the others do. The War Years (On the Front Lines) also appeals to me for the same reason. But, as a good geek, we have them all.

I've got those earmarked, too.

I have to say, I was impressed with the DVD/CD collection. Quite a variety and quite a lot of them!:snap:

I'm glad you're a geek, I do know that I can aspire to that level, too much catching up to do and many other expensive books to acquire on Disney.
