First and iPod and tomorrow the world

Bwahhahahahaha, I just signed up for skype, this is pretty amazing! I may never use my land line again!

Anyone else have/use this? The only thing wrong with it is I don't have a wireless headset.

Skype is the bomb. I use a webcam also with mine to many friends. But there sound quality really shines. Its too bad there a little slow tho getting webcam support for Mac. But its coming. Also if you wanna have some real fun, download Crazy Talk for Skype. Its totally free.

Have Fun

If I were home, I'd say Skype me!

What does Skype cost? Can you call PC to phone, or is it only PC to PC?

PC to PC, PC to landline phone and PC to cell

If the person is on skype, it's free.

I called a friend in LA last night who is not on skype, we talked for 10 minutes in prime time, the call cost me .30 cents. The sound was excellent too!

I'm totally sold, this is a great thing!:D

No funny commercials on TV?
I can't answer this, I've gotten my feet wet with skype and did no shopping around before hand. Anyone else?

There are some marketing differences where Vonage is set up to be more like standard phone service in terms. They're more focused on having an in-home wired system that looks and feels like a regular phone (with phone bases etc.), while Skype is strictly a software-based system on your PC (Vonage offers that too). But underneath, they're the same basic technology (VOIP).

The big difference though is that you can sign up for Skype for free, use it only to call other Skype members, and never pay a dime. Vonage requires a monthly service contract and requires the hardware to set it up as your home phone.
