April 2, 1968: Classic sci-fi film "2001: A Space Odyssey" debuts in Washington, DC

Probably my favorite movie. The premiere cut of 2001 was some 19 minutes longer than the final version. Stanley did the trims himself, and seems to have made sure that no human will ever see them. I gotta respect the guy for being true to himself, but man, I wanna see that footage.

My sig line may mean something to Odyssey fans.
