This thing freaks me out.
Okay, I know we were all kinda disappointed by the Song Tapper...but I promise this is better.
http://www.20q.net My friend had a handheld version of this. You think of something, anything. It asks you up to 20 questions, then guesses what you're thinking of. The first time I did it, I thought of a baseball bat. After 20 questions, it came up with cricket bat (I may have answered one question wrong). If you say it's wrong, it'll ask a few more questions and try again. After a couple more questions, it got baseball bat. I just tried again, this time thinking of a carboard box. After just 18 questions it got "cardboard". I pressed it a little and by question 26, it got Box (cardboard). |
Gah! I was thinking of a breath mint. After 18 questions it guessed "Laundry Detergent". I said no. It asked 1 more question...then got breath mint! This thing rules!

Dang. That thing and I are on different wavelengths. I boggled its mind with:
- record album - flea collar - can opener it didn't get any of those, and then, when I told it, it detailed all the reasons I was wrong. (Apparently, a record album "lives above the ground" but a flea collar does not!) |
Omg!!!
I almost had to kill a friend of mine over this. Around Christmas, it was very busy in our salon and Mikey calls to sneak in for a quick haircut. Mind you, I am booked out at least three months, but he always manages to weasel in on a cancellation. This time, I was totally booked up but I agreed to stay late if he behaved himself and turned his cell phone off. (He's a regional manager of a big loan op, and is permanently attached to that damned phone). So, he comes in sans phone, but with this little contraption that guesses what you're thinking of in 20 questions. He insisted on me and everyone else in the shop testing it out.."Okay, think of something!" It took about triple the time to get through his haircut that it normally takes. ( His wife told me that later on they were getting all settled in to go to sleep. She turns the light off and a few seconds later she hears "Okay, think of something!" She told him he didn't want to know what she was thinking of..) |
Yeah, I boggled it's mind as well with Granola, Claw, Tampon
|
And apparantly it thinks the answer to "Does a pair of pliers like apples" is "doubtful".
It's a little idosynchratic with some of its answers, but it still gets something at least close within the 30 questions before it gives up. Oddly, "permanent marker" isn't in its database, though "dry erase marker" is. |
I must be doing this wrong.
I've stumped it with Ladybug. Though I've stumped the hand held version with ladybug and snail. |
I stumped it with corn dog.

It successfully guessed digital camera, violin, and marijuana (sort of, said it was probably a drug). It didn't do so well with either amusement park or republican.
