the Stanford Theater in Palo Alto, CA

For those swanksters in Northern California, The Stanford Theater is having a fabulous line up over the next two months. Damn my timing as I will miss most of it.

Ronald Colman festival and I LOVE Ronald Colman and Vincente Minelli festival. Some fabulous classic films and ask me, am I just disgusted I'm missing them? YES, I am! With luck I can catch the final two weeks of June. If you can possibly make it to one of the silent screenings, Dennis James and Jim Riggs are fabulous organists. I've heard them both play many a silent film and they are worth the price of admission. The Stanford has a fabulous Mighty Wurlitzer.

You can find the schedule here, and I encourage anyone with an interest in classic films and damn good musicals to check this out.

ARGH, I'm having my own personal earthquake today because I just learned about this. Dammit.

I haven't been to the Stanford since the refurb so maybe I'll have to force myself.

Go ahead Alex, force yourself and then post how great it was so I can squirm ;)

I say "force myself" because it is 40 miles away and a bit of a hassle to get too (about a third of the times I've tried to go there we end up not seeing the movie becuase of crowds).

Perhaps I will catch a showing of whatever is on when I'm back for my reunion in October. I miss living there.

Well......when I move back, perhaps we can make an arrangement for a LoT movie night. I can always buy tickets! :-) I try to make sure I get down there early for that, especially if it's a really good show!
