Dumb travel question

I'm trying to come up with a gift for my Alaska in-laws. They're putting us up for the week.

I want something Californai/LA/OC related. I'm considering Peet's Coffee and Ghiradelli Chocolates already, but I keep coming back to the fruit idea.

They don't allow fruit to pass between states sometimes, but what about to Alaska? Will I get in trouble if they find avocados and oranges in my suitcase?

I figure the answer is "you're an idiot for even considering it" but I thought I'd ask.

It might disrupt the delicate ecosystem of the Alaska frontier. That, and a grizzly might attack you as you leave the airport.

Try sending from certified grower, ie online like harry and david, etc... They can usually pass agriculture with no problem.

Yup. Leaving on Saturday. Most of our time will be spent getting to know our new in-laws and new baby nephew. But we do have a couple more exciting things planned. The one definite is a Kenai Canyon rafting trip. And then the other hope is to visit a glacier park that's relatively close to Anchorage (don't remember the link for that one) to get some time walkin' on the ice.

For ice walking near anchorage you want:

The Matanuska Glacier

and the folks to go with are the MICA Guides (Really! Ask for Carrie Simmions if she is back this year) and their "Ice Fall Trek." Oh, and after your hike stop by the "Long Rifle Lodge" for a meal it's very close to where you turn off the road for the glacier, it has a great view of the glacier, excellent local food and for that authentic atmosphere a surly backwoods serving wench. Also if you get a clear day, you can see Mt. Denali (Mt. Mckinley for you lower state folks) on the drive out to the glaicer.

Also not to be missed from Anchorage if you can get the time is the 26 Glaciers cruise. You see half of what the cruse ships do on a week long cruise and get twice as close! You do have to go trough the tunnel so if you go plan for that.
