Cemetery Film Screening - June 10 - The Philadelphia Story
My all-time FAVORITE film. -
|
I'm going crazy. I'm standing here solidly on my own two hands and going crazy.
|
Oh, we're going to talk about me again, are we? Goody.
|
Not quite an all-time favorite for me, but very solidly in the second tier. I want to be C.K. Dexter Haven when I grow up.
|
I would sell my grandmother for a drink - and you know how I love my grandmother.
|
Cary Grant makes this film for me, although it is solidly cast throughout. Hepburn is a given since she created the role (and correct me if I'm wrong Philip Barry wrote it for her). Roland Young as Uncle Willie is a scream.
This is also one of the few cases where I actually like the musical remake as well. There are some good moments, and there is Cole Porter. |
Cole Porter, Louis Armstrong and "Did You Evah" make the remake it enjoyable for me. Oh, and Bing, Frank and Grace are OK too.
I want Tracy's car. |
Quote:
I want just about anyone's car from pre-1960 Hollywood, but Norma Desmond's Isotta-Fraschini will do me just fine, although it will be a gas hog :( |
What a great movie! Do I smell road trip? (depends on jury duty)...

ROD TRIP ROAD TRIP ROAD TRIP!
