Well, you're 64 Paul. Now what?

When I get older, losing my hair, many years from now,
Will you still be sending me a Valentine, birthday greetings, bottle of wine?
If I'd been out 'till quarter to three, would you lock the door?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four?

Hmm------mmm---mmmh.
You'll be older, too. Aaah, and if you say the word, I could stay with you.

I could be handy, mending a fuse, when your lights have gone.
You can knit a sweater by the fireside, sunday mornings, go for a ride.
Doing the garden, digging the weeds, who could ask for more?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I'm sixty four?

Every summer we can rent a cottage in the Isle of Wight if it's not too dear. We shall scrimp and save.
Ah, grandchildren on your knee, Vera, Chuck, and Dave.

Send me a postcard, drop me a line stating point of view.
Indicate precisely what you mean to say, yours sincerely wasting away.
Give me your answer, fill in a form, mine forever more.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I'm sixty four?

I'm sure when he (and John) wrote this when Paul was 24, 64 seemed a long way away. But he made it! Happy Birthday Paul.

While he does have three grandchildren, their names are not Vera, Chuck and Dave. And I think he wouldn't have to worry about affording the rent for a cottage!

And he's getting a divorce for his birthday, too. He'll be back in circulation, what could better? ;)

I can't help but think about how John and George didn't make it to 64.

Thinking back on John's death still makes me sad. :(

Happy B-Day, Paul. :)

It's sad that George and John didn't make it, but there's also something very sad about watching Paul age and go through this sort of stuff. George was getting up there in age, but he still looked great, and of course John was in his prime. Paul, who was considered by many to be the 'cute' Beatle (I never thought so, though) is now puffy-faced and has a really bad dye job.

And Ringo, of course, will outlive them all. :) Hell, George Martin might, as well.

Anybody wanna see Ringo & His All Starr Band on Saturday night?

If I didn't have other plans, I would love to.

Isn't Todd Rundgren playing with him this go-'round?

CoasterMatt 06-19-2006 10:51 PM

This round has:

Rod Argent
Richard Marx
Sheila E.
Billy Squier
Edgar Winter
plus Hamish Stuart

I've seen Billy Squier in concert twice. He sucked bad both times.
