Geeks in love

Did anyone here do Tusday's LA Times crossword puzzle? It had answers in it including "Justine", "Ian", "CalArts", "Huston", and "Will You Marry Me".

So, my friend's sister, Justine (who graduated from CalArts), and her boyfriend, Ian (who went to school in Houston), have been going out for a while. They like to do the LA Times crossword puzzle together. Many months ago, Ian managed to get in contact with the editor of the puzzle and set this up. So...freaking...cool.

Awww!

How romantic! And geeky.

It is romantic, but it is also copycatted. The New York Times Crossword puzzle did the same thing a couple years ago.

I'm kind of surprised the LA Times editor agreed to do the exact same thing but it is cool for your friend that he did.

Chances are that this has been done many times.

But that does not make it any less cool and romantic. Congratulations to the love-birds. Did she say yes?

According to 64-down, she did.

Stupid question, but what was 64-down? (What was the clue?)

"Hoped-for answer to 60-Across"

60-Across, of course, being the one whose answer was "Will You Marry Me."

Here is a pdf of the puzzle.
