Cemetery Screenings - July 1 - Dr. Strangelove

Gates at 7:30. Film at 9:00

This is a must see for a few. And, it wouldn't be summer without a Kubrick film at the Cemetery.

CINESPIA Presents:
DR. STRANGELOVE
Directed by Stanley Kubrick
Saturday, July 1st
Gates at 7:30 pm Film at 9:00 pm
Hollywood Forever Cemetery
6000 Santa Monica Boulevard at Gower
No reservation necessary.
$10 Donation Tickets available at gate.
As a courtesy to other movie-goers: NO TALL CHAIRS

Kubrick’s brilliant black comedy is more hilarious and relevant than ever and Peter Sellers performance as three different characters is incomparable. When a general goes haywire and orders a nuclear strike, the president is faced with drunken Russian ire from one side and fanatical sabre-rattling from the other. Bring blankets, drinks and picnic dinner for this special screening below (and above) the stars. DJ Jun spins before and after the screening.

Looks like we're going...better go chair shopping.

God, I'm jealous. I would seriously have considered re-scheduling our trip had I known that was going to be on the docket.

You could always pop over to the westside for a fremont outdoor movie. yeah, it lacks a little in ambiance, but they're showing Shaun of the Dead later this summer, as well as an assortment of other flicks.

Oooh, we're going over in early September.......:D

Bill and I may go.

I love most of Stanley Kubrick but have never cared for Dr. Strangelove. I'd rather watch Eyes Wide Shut on continuous loop for a day.

It is so sad that NA and I are so in agreement on Monty Python but must disagree on this. I wonder which end of a soft-boiled egg she cracks; for the wrong answer will mean war.

Actually, I've never seen Dr. Strangelove, so we may still be able to be friends. I have always had my misgivings about seeing the film which is why I haven't seen it. But, I knew there was no getting out of it this time. I will save that silver bullit for Blazing Saddles. ;)

Hmm - Lisa hasn't seen Dr. Strangelove yet, so we'll see how she likes it. I think we'd both probably prefer Eyes Wide Shut in continuous loop format.
