If they'd give us two years, six months, and 22 days, we might be able to make it work. Otherwise I'm afraid there's not much hope.

I'd love to believe it.
I'd love to think we'd listen.
I'd love to think it would all stop.
But then I'd be living in a fool's paradise.

They just want to be able to say they drove the US out of Iraq. Notice they are "giving" us two years? It was a possibility that we would be mostly gone in two years anyway......this way they get to say they won. Kinda like an angry drunk who just got clobbered and finds himself flat on the floor in a bar giving a guy who is putting his coat on an ultimatum to leave or else.

That would also imply that the "insurgents" are a single unified organization.

I think there is ample proof that is decidedly NOT the case.

Surely you're not suggesting that we "cut and run"?

It appears that the groups may have agreed to make this offer, but they are certainly not a single group nor do they operate as one.
