TiVO to Network Help

Now that my network is up and running I am having issues connecting my TiVO to my network.

I have the proper card (a linksys wusb11) and the TiVO recognizes it. The problem comes when I have to enter the password. I tried both passwords (not sure which one it wants) and both times it says the network is not found (after I had already selected it from the TiVO menu.

I turned off my MAC filter thinking that would help (I previously had added it into my MAC filter list but it still didn't work).

Ideas?

Have you tried breaking something expensive in front of your electronics?

The password it wants is the same one you're using for WEP or WPA encryption on your wireless access point.

Andrew,

That is what I was using and it said it couldn't find the network (after already bringing it up for me to select).

Dear BTD,

Try turning off WEP/WPA at the router and see if you can connect with no encryption. If that works and encryption doesn't, try changing the transmission channel; most access points come configured for channel 6, but you can also use 1 or 11, and if there are other nearby access points on channel 6 you might be getting interference.

OK, I did that, and was able to connect. When I turned the encryption back on the network no longer recognized the TIVO. How do I configure it to recognize the TIVO and remain encrypted?

KB, I tried that. I noticed I have WPA with TKIP security and the TIVO is asking for WEP security. Maybe that has something to do with it. I'll have to try reconfiguring my settings.
