See a movie, spend the night on Alcatraz

Netflix Rolling Roadshow is coming to SF Bay on August 26th literally

AND

Long Beach August 24th

Now I would not mind seeing Excape from Alcatraz on the Rock, I don't think I'd like to spend the night in Cell Block D. I've not been back to the island since I was 11 and got freaked when they locked us up in a solitary cell.

Long Beach screening looks like mucho fun in a swanky locale who does not love the original Poseidon Adventure? I saw it first run with my parents in one of the Century theatres in San Jose (like the cinerama dome, before they got divided, now that was WIDESCREEN)

Wish I could be around where they're screening the Searchers

Yeah, I was toying with that Poseidon Adventure thing ... but I heard it was long ago sold out.

I've never been to a Rolling Road Show screening, though I love the concept. I feel crappy that they finally come to a local site, playing a movie I'd enjoy seeing at that site .... and I didnt', well, bother.

A fews back, though, I was very tempted to drive a few days just to see them show Close Encounters of the Third Kind at Devil's Tower, Wyoming.

Their site still says "stay tuned to find out how to win tickets," as they were never actually sold. But, hello, I've been staying tuned, and I've heard or seen nothing.

I am with you, LS.

I have checked the Netflix site every day and have yet to see anything about how to win tickets to this. I'm just afraid that one day I will check in and find out that: Sorry - Sold Out.

To quote an Ohio license plate - NWTF?

Must see Lisa Loeb. She's a hottie.

Ad in the paper today says Poseidon Adventure at the Queen Mary will be first come, first served.

Bah, it's on a Thursday (Aug. 24) and free admission is meaningless to me if it means spending all day in a line (even if I somehow weren't at work that day).

Hmmmm, the only person I know who doesn't have a 9-to-5er and also lives in Long Beach isn't exactly the type I would peg for a yen to see this film at this place.

You can now go to Netflix and enter to win tickets to the Long Beach show.

Go to the page where they tell about the event. They have a link to K-EARTH where you can register and enter to win tickets.

It is the only way I have seen to get tickets.

If anyone wins and has a spare ticket, don't forget who told you how to enter. :D

It sounds like it would be a blast, but, while I don't work 9-5 that day I work 8am-8 pm. I'm out.
