PC sound problem

Does anyone know why the sound wouldn't play on Internet Explorer? Other things (iTunes, Windows Media Player) are playing just fine, but any sound that's playing in IE isn't coming through.

If you open up the Tools menu in IE and go to Internet Options, click on the Advanced Tab. Under Multimedia, is the "Play Sounds in Web Pages" option is checked?

It is checked, yep.

I assume you've restarted the computer?

And by what method is IE supposed to be playing sounds? Is it embedded sound in the Web page or is it supposed to be playing through a plug-in?

If you dont have a media tab on your toolbar go to the View pulldown menu then toolbars and select it otherwise click the icon. On the bottom of the sidebar that shows up is a volume slider check and make sure that it is all the way up.

If the system sound were off that would kill iTunes and stuff as well.

<stomps foot> Did I say I wanted a hot apple fvcking pie? (Damn now he is quoting obscure standup bah I hate that worse than movie quotes) bwwwahaha

It's seperate control for the browser not main system sound. Last few versions of IE have had it hooks into the good awful Media Edition as well if you have it bleh... Stand alone though another place to look as it can kill streaming video/audio.

Way better solution get Firefox
