Paramount severs ties with Cruise

Paramount has cut ties with Cruise, citing his eroding popularity:

Falling Star

I wonder what ramifications this will have for TomKat?

Well seriously you can't be all over tv looking like a nutball and not have it hurt your carrer.

I'm pretty sure the outfit he is wearing in this picture had something to do with severing the link, as well.

You could photoshop Prince Harry's head on there and no one would know the difference.

You know, he should have enough money to be able to retire by now. He shouldn't need to work. Except perhaps to buy a new wordrobe. Sheesh, looks like he went to the Salvation Army to get dressed!

I take that back, I've gone to the Salvation Army and came out looking better!

It will be interesting to see what comes out of this. Remeber when a star could do anything they wanted, and get away with it? Now that the average movie watcher is more sofisticated, not to mention media and the internet, it's much harder to get away with now.

LMAO, Lisa.

His standing in the Scientology community is the most important thing to him- I wonder how they'll handle this downturn?

Alex 08-22-2006 08:11 PM

Eh, it has nothing to do with his Scientology and weird behavior, that is just an excuse. It doesn't even have to do with his "recent deline in popularity."

Cruise and Paramount have been increasingly bickering over money for several years. The relationship nearly came to an end three years ago because Paramount balked at the fees Cruise and his production company wanted for M:I:III.

Over the last year a trend of the studios turning away from the megadeals that were the way of doing business for the previous decade and Cruise had one of the most favorable in Hollywood.

I saw the AOL online article about his antics. Is couch jumping and girl friend fondling realy unacceptible behavior? I can understand people being tired of hearing about it, but I wouldn't avoid his movied because of it.

Gemini Cricket 08-23-2006 07:46 AM

I find a lot of Tom Cruise's movies to be boring. He's not the best actor. The best thing about him was his ex-wife.
:D
