Big Daddy, born in the Tiki Room

I was reading an article about Steve Franks the creator of the USA how Psych (CP and I watched a few episodes...it's got a lot of cleverness to it, but hasn't kept our attention). Turns out he was a CM for 8 years starting in 1988. His first big break was the screenplay for the Adam Sandler movie Bid Daddy (which he originally titled Guy Gets Kid with the main character being a theme park employee). Apparantly, he did most of the writing of that while working the Tiki Room. He'd wake Jose up...then sit in the corner writing for 20 minutes at a time. I love it (the creative use of time...not the movie, which I haven't seen).

That explains the lack of cohesive plot I feel that film had

I know a great many people who love that film. Give it a shot, there ARE worse films!

There's a ringing endorsement.

I always wondered what the CMs do during the show, I didn't realize it was light enough to write in there.

I've gotten to press the start button... I was so giddy afterwards.

The start button is for show. It's the stick waking up Jose that starts it. :)

I make no apologies for my "ringing endorsement".
Its not really my type of movie.
Nor an actor that I go out of my way to watch.

I'm sorry, I meant that in a light hearted manner. I should have put a smiley on that comment, like this:

There's a ringing endorsement. :)

and honeslty, I heard it the way you meant it.
No worries.

But no, I am not ringing the bell. ;)

I don't remember his name, but his face sure rings a bell.
