Lyra's missing. Need ideas to find her

So, I left last night to go to an overnight pet sitting job. Erica ws over earlier and Lyra was in the house. Chris noticed her missing this morning. She as NEVER tried to get outside since we brought her in. I suspect her time has come and she hid someplace to die But, I CAN'T FIND HER ANYWHERE!

I've torn the house apart so far. I've looked under and behind all major appliances, in both box springs, under all furniture, in bookshelves, in boxes under beds, in creepy corners where wiring lives, seemingly everyone but the one place she is hiding.

Cats are known for going into hiding when they know they are going to die. I suspect that is what has happened here. But, I DO need to find her.

To make matters worse, Chris is in a HUGE IMPORTANT meeting with several company VPs and can't get out of it until, hopefully, later today.

Any ideas on where to look?

My life is so wierd right now.

This may sound strange, but I'd take out all the drawers in any cupboards and look behind them. I had a cat crawl down into the drawer then up out of the drawer and back in the cupboard. We also had one hide in the kitchen cabinets, in the corner, behind some kitchen stuff.

I hope you find her. :(

I'm so sorry to hear about this..

They also like someplace warm and dark.

Wasn't she hiding in the bookcases behind the couch before?

:( Poor kitty.

Oh man... I wish I could come over and help you look...

If you have any luggage stored inside your closet, check inside it.

And boxes.

Have you also tried in all the kitchen cabinets/closets?

we had a cat hide in a hole in the wall under a free standing fireplace in one of the apartments we lived in long ago. the hole was so small as to make you think 'no way' but sure enough she fit in.

so theres no way she could have gotten outside?

does she respond to the can opener?

Sometimes our cats crawl inside our couches from underneath.

I hope you find her-- hang in there.
