Stacey (WNTW) pimping skinny pants for Macy's
OK, so she's alive and can make her own choices... BUT she was suggesting ankle boots to go with skinny pants. /bleh.
Yea, so the skinny pants are back and Macy's is telling her what to sell but really, she is on WNTW people who watch WNTW are going to think it's OK to wear skinny pants. And really, being on WNTW she should be more selective in what she is choosing to endorse. I repeat. Bleh. |
I think Stacey is hardly one to tell others how to dress- I seldom see where she is wearing anything that outstanding on the show, and often some of her selections are downright tacky. I think her job is just to make snarky and rude comments about other people and make Clinton look nice by comparison. One of these days someone is going to smack her.

I've only seen the show once but if someone sicked them on me I'd be pretty pissed at my friends.
I wonder how often they show up and the target says "uh, no thanks." |
I've hit the trifecta of ignorance here.
Who is Stacy? What is WNTW? WTF are skinny pants? |

![]() Stacey and Clinton. Clinton's the nice one. Now, check out the fashionista's dress. I'm sorry, but that didn't look good on my grandmother and it doesn't look any better now. Skinny pants are those pants we used to wear back in the Eighties- those of us who were into Techno/Punk and wore the skinny ties and high-tops as well, anyway. |
Keeping in mind I'm hormonally cranky & I've never, ever seen this show....
I love, love, LOVE fashion! I love shopping, I love thinking of shopping, I love dreaming of shopping. Nothing makes me happier then matching outfits, shoes and handbags. Especially shoes! Dreamy sigh...I admit I have a weakness for designer stuff, too. However, I also love combing a good thrift shop. My tastes never discriminate & I'm certainly no snob! :) Now, if these two jackholes showed up at my front door begging to reinvent me & tossing items I cherish into the trash as the picture wendybeth posted suggests, I couldn't get a Manolo stiletto up each ass fast enough. Thank goodness shoes come in pairs. Fashion to me will always be the most beautiful form of self-expression & creativity. Dress how YOU want. Even if it's dated by societal standards and doesn't match, it's YOU. And that's an admirable and beautiful thing. :) :snap: |
I like WNTW. Yes, there's the vicarious humiliation aspect, but the people who are on it look so amazing when they're done with the whole thing. And they do seem to select a variety of body types and focus on how to make each person look their best, as opposed to those makeover shows where the person gets a heap of cosmetic surgery, a dye job, and dental reconstruction to turn them into a glamazon. There was a time where I wanted to be on the show, but I don't think I have enough "after" potential and now that I'm looking for Serious and Professional Work I'd rather not be on a silly teevee show.
That said, I don't know what Stacey was thinking. But that's probably why I like Clinton best anyhow. |
I'm trying to find something on Macy's site on this. I'm not seeing it. Everything there has a flared ankle.
Anyway - I LOVE What Not to Wear. I've watched nearly every episode. I WISH I could get on this show but apparently I don't dress poorly enough for a friend to submit me. :) People always end up looking and feeling more confident and poised at the end of the show, even when they cry and resist. I believe the show helps me make better clothing decisions (though everyone I know can feel free to argue me on that point ;) ). All I know is, I have STOPPED buying baggy clothes. That's pretty amazing for me. |
I would hate being on the show. I like my peasant skirts too much.
I don't care if something is in style as long as I like it, it fits, and it is comfortable. It is hard enough to find clothes that fit, if I made sure they were in style I would never have anything to wear. |
I'm more than happy to dress all stylish. Just so long as all the stylish clothes are within the first 15 feet of the nearest department store and I don't have to go more than once every three years.
If it requires more work than that, I just don't care enough. |
