Tower of Terror Lightning Effect - Part of Disney's HalloweenTime!

Here's a video I took of the special lightning effect being used on Tower of Terror as part of Disney's HalloweenTime at the Disneyland Resort!

Watch now!

It just looks like a bunch of strobe lights hitiing the building. Where's the lightning bolts?

Is it better in person?

Thanks for the video, I was curious about it!

Pretty cool!

It's awesome in person.

And, no, even in 2006 - Disney cannot have bolts of lightning decend from the clouds on cue.

(pfft, they can't even keep escalators running. Don't get me started on moving ramps)

Why is that anyway??? I always wondered. They can make cars run through Indy, but can't keep a ramp running?????

We saw them testing the strobe from our hotel a few weeks ago but had no idea what they were doing. I'll have to tell my husband what it was.

Thanks

I've actually traversed the entire non-working Mickey level escalator. I was in a rush, the line for the (one working) elevator was LONG and because of the rush, didn't have time to take a lower escalator and walk the two stories.

And I think it is a rare occassion any more when both of the Mickey and Friends elevators are working simultaneously.

Interesting, because my memory is that early on in the history of Mickey & Friends they never seemed to be working and on my last visit (a few weeks ago) I commented on how long it had been since I'd last seen one not.
