GC's California Screamin Countdown

No, not the roller coaster at DCA, but the countdown to GC's pending arrival to Southen California.

16 days and counting (providing you're on schedule).

How goes the packing and purging?

All is going well so far.

I'm going to purchase my plane ticket today and I'm going to rummage through my clothes to sort them out and make a donation to the Goodwill.

My resume is already in the hands of a couple of people who have potential job connections for me.

I gave my current job a month's notice, so they are aware of my departure and are willing to write me letters of recommendation if need be. Which is awesome.

Ralphie will be getting instructions from me this week on how to tend to my aquarium while I am away.

So, so far so good.

Officially, I will be leaving on the 22nd of October. My east coast posse is throwing me a farewell party on the 21st. :)

I can't wait to get to L.A. The weather is cold here already. Me not do cold.

Given Ralpie's profession, I can't help but smile at this one - for God's sake isn't being a Marine Biologist good enough?

Ha, bleary-eyed on he plane, just in time for the west coast posse to throw you a welcome party!

How come Ralphie needs instructions on the fish? Is it because they're freshwater? (Are they, I'm ashamed not to remember, been a while since that thread got updated)

If my fish were squid, tunicates, octopi, deep sea worms or sea cucumbers, then I'd have no worries.
But mamma takes good care of her fish. There's water testing to be done, gravel vacuuming and weekly water changes to be performed. It should take him no more than 3 two hour sessions of instruction. I'm very thorough. I have charts and a video instruction guide for him to help him. Also, he has to get at least a B- on his verbal exam, too. Only then will he be able to be trusted with the task.

:D
I'm kidding. He just need to learn how to work a Python. One of the best inventions ever. :)

Hmmm, we'll drink a contemporaneous party toast on th 21st to your imminent arrival ... there's some sorta shindig going on around here that date. Sticks in my mind for some reason.

Not Afraid 10-05-2006 08:18 AM

So, which MA team can he join?

innerSpaceman 10-05-2006 08:20 AM

Oh my, turns out there's an opening on both our teams!

Coincidence? I.think.not.

Ghoulish Delight 10-05-2006 08:23 AM

Yes, but is subjecting him to an Invitational as his first event really something a friend would do?

innerSpaceman 10-05-2006 08:54 AM
