Each day, a victory.

Today I finally got an annoying wiring problem fixed. The receptacle under the sink was iffy, causing the dishwasher to stop midcycle. I had tried before to swap in a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) receptacle. They're for use near water. Thing is, apparently you can't do that with a split circuit, where one outlet is for the disposal switch. It took me two seperate days under the sink to figure it out. Today I bought a normal one and that went in fine, so I put the GFCI in an outlet near the sink.

Yeah, I can say all that in a paragraph, but all together, including meddling with the breaker box, putting in the wrong thing, taking it out, putting it back in, taking it out again and putting in the right one....I'm sure I spent at least 5 solid hours on it, including probably 3 hours in uncomfortable positions under the sink. I've learned a lot.

What did you learn/fix/change/achieve today?

I learned I am totally in awe of your (1) tenacity and (2) skills.

:snap:  :snap:

All I can do, electrically speaking, is install dimmer swtiches and change the outlets to grounded outlets and I know where the fuses are!

That's about the same as my skills. Plus, I have library books. :D

Finally hired a cleaning lady. Our heads and the wall are already starting to heal.

I learned that "enriched" bread, pasta, etc. is not at all enriched, but rather, depleated of what made the foods good in the first place. Watched an excellent, excellent special on Discovery Health called "You on a Diet," and found it very inspiring.

Now, to have a slice of cheesecake. (But, wait! It's OK. It's vegan tofu cheesecake that I just made from scratch this morning.)

Tofu cheesecake?

It was actually really good. I wouldn't have known it was tofutti cream cheese in there if I hadn't put it there myself; no aftertaste, no funky flavoring. It was pumpkin cheesecake so I suspect it masks it a bit. I made it because (blah blah Tom blah protein blah blah) and had never had cheesecake before; turns out Tofutti cream cheese has a very minimal amount of protein.
