Today's the day!
The sun is shining! The tank is clean! Gasp! The tank is clean! Just kidding. It's ultrasound day! So why am I here instead of cleaning my house? (They are coming to the house to do it.) I'm nervous for no good reason. Two and half more hours and then we'll know!
I had a dream that I had twins. Ever since then all I've thought is that I don't care if it's a boy or a girl, as long as it's one! Really, I should clean. :birdy: |
How totally exciting!!!!
I'll be here in two hours... waiting to see what they said. |
Oh Traci I'm so excited for you! That's awesome! How much longer anyway? You've been pregnant FOREVER!!!! :) ;)

Wow, a housecall? Is that covered by insurance? How cool is that...
Can I ask an "I've never been pregnant" question - what's an ultrasound like emotionally? Do you get teary-eyed, or is it just exciting, or maybe even kind of freaky? |
CP...my first Ultrasound with Bailey...I was like..."Where is it?"...I seriously couldn't see a thing...even though the tech was pointing out everything...
Luckily I had pictures which I was able to finally make out! I don't remember being weepy....just excited at the miracle of it all! The last US with Bailey, I was 2 weeks from due date. I wasn't good at laying flat on my back..it made me nauseaus...I threw up and totally freaked out the tech. Kat's first ultrasound was ultra cool...at my first visit..I was only a few weeks along..they couldn't get a heartbeat..so they did an internal ultrasound...she was just in the very early stages of development...still looking very embryotic, but had arms and legs...but she was so tiny she was really "swimming"...it's my favorite! |
I'm hoping it's a boy 'cause girls have cooties.

With Nickolas, I didn't find out (for sure) I was pg until @11 weeks (not stupid, long story). Because they had me classified as a high rick pregnancy they did an ultasound right away. I could see his spine, his internal organs...very cool. It was at that moment that I really came to terms that there was a little person growing in me.
They did another one later to make sure everything was still ok. Up to that point everyone (except David and one of the doctors my mom worked with) was telling me I was having a girl. He was in the fetal position sleeping. The tech woke him up and we could see him stretch. His feet went up over his head and we watched him move his hands as he began to play with his toes. Then the tech showed us the little "snail" poking out near his rump. He was def a boy. I cried, then felt guilty that I had cried. There is nothing like an ultra sound when you can see everything happening inside you. With my 2nd pregnancy they had an ultra sound (the icky internal one) already schedualed when I started spotting. It was painful and the tech was very rude. I was not just crying, but bawling all the way through it and even thoung she knew the baby was already gone she refused to tell me. She also refused to let my mom into the room with me. |

The ultrasound was totally cool! (It totally isn't covered by ins, btw, neither is any of the homebirth, but it's still cheaper than the deductible on a hospital birth.) The guy drove up in his Porsche with his assistant and set up everything. They did it with me just laying on the couch. Indi was a little monkey and sat on me for most of the time. The rest of the time he pretended to put the jelly on my tummy.
They took a bunch of pictures during and after that they will put on a dvd for us. I didn't realize he was recording everything we were saying during the ultrasound. I was a total dork and now my dorkiness will be immortalized on dvd. What's worse, we said the name on the tape, and we aren't telling anyone the name, so our families are going to have to watch it without sound (which is good for dork factor). So that's about it. Oh, what? You wanted to know what we're having? Silly me. :p It's a... Spoiler:
