New Years Eve 2006/7 Menu
Here's what I'm making for tomorrow nights party with the folks, here at our place.
New Years Eve 2006/7 Menu: Snacks:

Seeing as we went out to Sydney Tower for Christmas Dinner and didn’t get to cook, I thought I’d spoil the family for New Year. Enjoy this recipe !! Ginger Martini by Duane Wells, 365Gay.com Something about a Ginger Martini just seems right for a holiday party. Maybe it’s the golden color or the spiciness of the cocktail but trust me it works. Ginger is both warm and refreshing naturally, but when paired with Vodka it is a sensation. Here’s how I do it: Ingredients: 3 ounces Belvedere vodka 1 ounce ginger syrup Splash of freshly squeezed lime juice Splash of Vernor’s Original Ginger Soda (use a bit more if serving over ice but stir instead of shaking) Ice Twist of lemon or lime Fill a cocktail shaker or glass pitcher with ice. Pour in Belvedere vodka, ginger syrup, splash of lime juice and Vernor’s. Shake or stir vigorously. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass or pour over ice. Garnish with a twist of lemon or lime. [For ginger syrup, grate 2 tablespoons of ginger into a saucepan filled with 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for 7 – 10 minutes. Strain and cool.]. |
The ginger martini sounds delightful. Ginger is an aphrodisiac you know ;)
I'm working on a concoction tentatively entitled The Alchemists Dream - being a sort of philosophers stone of mixology. I use ginger ale to effervesce the ingredients. I'll share the recipe later after I surprise a few guests. |
Sounds great Lashbear! If I get on a plane right now I'll be there in time! ;)

Lani and I have been discussing the NY menu. Since we didn't do it for Christmas it is still up in the air whether we'll have IHOP or Denny's. Normally it would be easy and we'd just do the opposite of our Christmas meal.
I'm guessing Denny's will win* but maybe I'll be surprised. Because I have to go to work on Jan 1. To do a test that can only be done on January 1 and will take all of 8 minutes (most of which will be walking to and from the car). Denny's is closest to my office (and famous for earlier this year hosting shootings on consecutive nights). |

Mine is a bit simpler:
1. spaghetti 2. upperbody-towel (to protect shirt against spills) 3. side of crackers 4. lap-towel (to protect against crumbs) 5. soda 6. pudding |
