It's the new year and time for a new diet

back on the regime and walking and exercise. I dropped 40lbs last year and hope to continue the trend in 2007. Wish me luck!

As soon as I'm over this cold, I'm going to start jogging. I'm at my heaviest ever. Bleh.

Thanks, I love iced tea!

GD, get over your cold! Sending virtual chicken soup to you, I swear by the healing effects. :)

Congratulations on your success. Best of luck to continued weight loss.

Are you following any particular nutrition plan?

I'm really in a healthy-living mood. But unfortunately, the most I'm allowed to lose before my March 24th dress fitting is 10 pounds. And then I have to remain exactly the same until June 9th.

My dress (I tried it on for the first time on Christmas!) fits perfectly and if I lose any more than that, I'll be in danger of screwing up the bodice.

I know, I know. It's just a dress. But it's a damned expensive dress (for my pocketbook, anway) and I'll be damned if I have to buy another one. I don't even think there's time. Consarn it!

Best wishes to everyone else in their healthy-living mood. We can do it!

Healthy living mood! Love it!

Listen, I understand your not wanting to change until after the "ordeal" with the dress. I can't wait to see your gorgeous pics.

Besides, if I may say so Ms. H, you look beautiful just the way you are!

I think that is a big point.

When I was heavier, I think I looked awful. I knew people who were larger/same size and I thought they looked fantastic.

I am trying to get back to a frame of mind where I am not just munching. I had dropped alot of weight by cutting out candy, bread, and as much fat as possible.

Trying to get back to my exercise program, it isn't easy. I had done it for over 3 years, religiously.

I slacked off big time over the past few months, to almost nothing the past couple of weeks. I was concentrating more on 'winter cleaning'. Well, I wondered why I felt so down. I read in one of my fitness mags {that I'd conveniently put away and someone else pulled out...} that if you stop exercising you can go into a depression, a week off is one thing but more...

So, I am trying.

The best thing that burned calories was dancing. And, I haven't been. So sad.

Good luck to everyone. :snap:

Pretty much portion control and giving up bread/pasta, cheese and other dairy. I allow some parmasan just so I can kick up the taste of salads and such. The main thing for me is giving up the bread and pasta and increasing the green veggies. I'm adding tofu as well so I can maintain a healthy level of protein.

This worked for me before, and I hate to use the excuse of my move, but I've been pretty much self indulgent since I came back to the Bay Area, so much wonderful food I missed. I'm eating so much Vietnamese food, I'm pretty sure I'm really turning Vietnamese.
