Sea World

Bill and I are going to Sea World this weekend. Neither of us have been for at least 10 years. Any tips, suggestions, must see/dos?

Which Sea World?

CoasterMatt 01-09-2007 04:31 PM

Silly me... Sea World San Diego, right?

Hours for Saturday and Sunday - 10a.m. to 6 p.m.

Attractions closed:
Skytower
Penguin Encounter (Indoor closed. Magellanic Penguins open for viewing.)
Seal and Sea Lion Feeder Pool

If the weather is good, and you don't mind getting doused, Shipwreck Rapids is a really fun, really well themed rapids ride.

I personally love the Sky Ride at Sea World - it's especially nice just before sunset.

It's also got one of the last sky bucket rides (besides the one at the zoo)

What I enjoy is the movie. I think Christopher Lloyd is in it?

Is that still there?

The last time we were there was about 14 years ago/ We saw black and white dolphins mating. VERY interesting! I highly recommend it.

By coincidence just this last weekend Lani and I visited Sea World Orlando for the first time ever (three days at Disney World and we never entered a Disney park).

Didn't go on any of the rides so can't comment (and am not sure if they translate). Enjoyed the dog and cat show even though it was really simple. Just fun to watch those and wonder why my own pets never do cool tricks.
I'm ambivalent about the degree to which the animals are subjected to constant human contact and feeding but most people don't seem to be bothered by that so you'll probably find it cool to make a sea lion beck for sardine. The Arctic Encounter motion simulator ride was lame (I think they have this at San Diego as well).

Oh, bring hand sanitizer so you don't have to wait in long lines for the sinks.
