Snow at DRL? and we ain't talking soap here...

So what's the real story?

Our local news is saying LA is going to get some snow. Of course that's rather like saying MD,NJ,DL,DC, or PA are going to get some snow. "LA" covers a lot of area...

Is there a chance for real snow on the Matterhorn and if so will you SoCal'ers be so freaked out that you won't leave home or if you do venture out will the park actually be open?

*IF* there is real snow falling from the sky I will squeel with glee and then go find and play in it. I doubt it will stick though and I doubt it will hit OC.

Unlikely. The last I saw, they were talking 1500 ft. Pretty low, but well above Disneyland.

But it's not unheard of. About once every 5-7 years we get a good freeze around here, and this is one of those years. Generally the temperature just drops overnight for a couple hours, freezes whatever's on the ground and that's that.

But once in a great while the conditions are right for snow, though if it does happen it will likely be in the very early morning hours and be so little that it's nothing more than wet dirt and some chunks of ice by the time any guests show up.

There was snow last night in some of the foothill areas and we had some iced windows by the beach. It is supposed to get to a whopping low of 38 tonight in Long Beach - but that's not enough to do more than make me turn on the heater. The big "issue" is that the skies are really clear making it colder than if there was cloud cover. But, for us costal/almost coastal areas, there won't be snow.

Hey, this would be considered almost warm in Chicago.

It hit the teens in the valley last night and likely will tonight again. It definitely wasn't that cold down in inland OC last night, but we had cloud cover (and a bit of drizzle) which kept some of the daytime warmth in.

Today's high here won't even be above freezing.

We had some slushy slush stuff around the neighborhood this morning...which I guess is kinda close to snow.

Kevy Baby 01-12-2007 06:10 PM

I've switched from snow to crack

DreadPirateRoberts 01-12-2007 06:36 PM

We had 2 inches of snow last night, it's 19 degrees right now (local mountains)

Ghoulish Delight 01-12-2007 07:12 PM

Wait. What's DRL? Is that like TRL?
