Knotts / Great America Pass Question

I'm REALLY confused !!

We are going to Knotts Beary Farm ("Knotts") first, then we are going to Great America ("GA").

We were going to buy a California Maxx Pass to do this.

If you buy the California Maxx Pass from GA it costs $99.95.

If you buy the California Maxx Pass from Knotts (which gives you access to THE SAME PARKS as the other one) it costs $154.95 !!!!

Even if we bought Knotts California Thrill Pass (Valid for Knotts and GA only) it's STILL $129.95 ..... $30.00 more than buying the all-park pass from GA.

I don't get it ?????

I guess we might as well just buy one day in each park - at a total of only $86.90 - it's cheaper.

I don't know about Great America, but Knotts can easily be covered in one day.

Great America is even less inspiring than Knotts. It can be covered adequately in a few hours depending on crowds.

One note on Great America if you or anyone in your party is on the large side.

Several of the major rides are very unforgiving of girth. Watching men (and some women) try to strap in only to have to step through isn't uncommon on a couple of the roller coasters (and happened to me once when I was near my top weight).

I'll have to watch that ! I just managed to get the harness shut on Xcellerator at knotts last time. I believe the Rollercoaster Fraternity refers to it as being "stapled"
