Spidey at Disneyland?!

Reports have been coming in to me tonight (Jan. 26) that Main Street U.S.A. is closed off because there's some stunt being filmed there ... with a Daily Bugle truck prominently in the scene.

This portends either very late principal photography for Spider-Man 3, or some sort of promotion for that film. It makes no sense, since Spidey is NOT a Disney property.

What gives?

Obviously someone dreamed that they would see Spiderman in DL!

Yeeeeaaaahhhhh...

Well given the amount of post production in a film like that, I'd say the odds of late principal photography seem low. The promotional thing makes more sense...but it still doesn't make sense.

I guess we'll just have to wait for more info.

So you can vouch that he wasn't at Disneyland? Hmmm........

I also ate lunch with Groucho Marx and Beetlejuice, and half of Shrek.

All of which points out that there at Uni Park characters -and there are Disney Park characters - and never the twain shall meet. The Spidey movies belong to Sony, and the character is licensed to Universal ... Disney's arch enemy.

So what in hell was going on at the Park last night???

Disney's Arch enemy?

Matt, do you have a list of Disney projects filmed on the lot over the past year?

CoasterMatt 01-27-2007 11:24 AM

I've ridden from the upper lot to the lower lot in a Buena Vista Pictures van (complete with the castle logo on the side).

More specifically, Universal has the license for the Marvel Comics/animated world of Spiderman.

I see Buena Vista trucks and vans on the lot all the time (and Warners, Paramount, Universal, pretty much every studio -- we all share space around as far as I've observed). And Spidey 3 is still shooting on two stages. Not that any of that answers your question. I didn't see any location listings for S3, but if it was for a promo, it'd come out of marketing, not studio ops (my dept.).
