A MUST Swanking - Shag With a Twist

I don't remember seeing this discussed previously, but how could we have missed this?!?

Shag With a Twist

Even in a perfect world, somebody always gets screwed.

Quote:

"Shag With A Twist" is the groovy midnight musical with murder, martinis, and a dancing monkey. Retro-cool, with swinging music, outlandish characters and vividly-colored costumes and sets, audiences are transported into a world where big hair, zoot suits, Tupperware parties and pupu platters are still the height of fashion.

A musical murder mystery set at a 50's/60's Tupperware party, "Shag With A Twist" serves up an evocative cocktail of music, color and choreography that brings to life the campy, hip artwork of famed visual artist Josh "Shag" Agle. The retro-theming extends off the stage with showroom décor, frilly "birdbath" drinks, pupu platter appetizers, kitschy ushers and interactive dances that will have audience members energized and on their feet at this hipster midnight ball.

"Shag With A Twist" is performed at the fabulous Shag Showroom at the retro-hip Plaza Hotel and Casino. Tickets now on-sale now at the Plaza box office or by calling (800)619-9496 or online by clicking here. Tickets starting at $45 with VIP seating at $55. Performances 7pm nightly and 3pm on Sundays (dark Tuesday and Wednesday). Suitable for all ages.

Yes, this is in Vegas, but I think this might be one way to get NA there!

Anyone else interested?

I can't decide if this is cool or a sign of Shag being really overexposed.

Hey the show is really good... i always stay at the Plaza Hotel in downtown Vegas.. I saw it during the weekend before Christmas... It's definetly done in well taste and its very fun.. Plus the main song "Shag with a twist" is something you will be singing over and over again....

THumbs up.. I will go see it again. Actually will be there April 1st...

I was thinking the same thing. Can his wonderfully 2D images really survive the transformation into not only 3D, but song and dance? I'm unsure.

That's weird. The web site says it debuts on February 20, 2007.

SHAG WITH A TWIST MULTIMEDIA SHOW

SHAG WITH A TWIST at the Plaza Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas
Or upon re-read, maybe it is the "multi-media' show at the Fremont Street Experience that debuts on Tuesday (which would make sense since the Shag with a Twist show is dark on Tuesdays and Wednesdays).

One of the things I was hoping for when I saw this show was that somehow Ursula1000 was tied in. But that was mainly because I went to Shag's site via a link on Ursula1000's web site.

We saw a sneak peek of the show I suppose... I got free a free room at the plaza the weekend before christmas and when i checked in they gave me two free tickets... I suppose it could have been a sneak peek. I dont remember them saying it started on Feb, but then again?

turn your sound up so you can hear the hypnotic song... LOL

Overexposed or not ... how can we decide unless we judge for ourselves (and not pre-judge?)

I think LoTs Vegas just got a little closer to happening.

Oi, but when??

Alex 02-19-2007 09:22 AM

I don't intend to judge the show, just whether I feel overexposed to Shag. And as much as I like his work I am very close to that point (and therefore less inclined to seek him out in new venues).
