This one is funny even if you aren't a tech geek.

Actually, the instructions do not contradict themselves - they could have just been better phrased.

The second line says "In particular, don't write it down and leave it anywhere..." (emphasis mine).

It might have been more clear if the instructions said something like, "Write down you password and store it in a safe place."
