Locked in at John Wayne

So this is interesting... a couple alarms went off a few minutes ago, and then this anouncement comes over the loudspeaker saying there's a code something-or-other at one of the checkpoints and to close all checkpoints and stop all planing and deplaning. Notthey've lowered big gates at all the security checkpoints, so those of us in the terminal are literally locked in.

Ooo, fun. (as long as it doesn't make my plane any later than it already is)

Wow, must suck to be that guy... Just saw a guy go by escorted by 6 TSA people and a sheriff. They weren't manhandling him or anything, but I'm still willing to be he's not having a good day. Shortly after, they resumed business as usual. Albeit 10 minutes behind schedlule...

Probably had shampoo in his carry-on.

Just for that reason I am not packing any liquids when I come down next month, I'll buy them there. With my luck it'd be too big and they'd haul me away.

You are still allowed to have liquids, of any amount, in your checked luggage, though if you do that you might want to put it in a plastic bag anyway in case of decompression issues.

We're trying not to check any bags coming down, it's only for 4 days. Going home we might though.

Just don't bring any magnets up your butt, and you should be fine :)

I get around the liquid ban by carrying dehydrated water. It's light, easy to pack and I can carry as much as I need.
