Not a good day for Eddie Griffin

This may not have the intrigue of the Stefan Eriksson Ferrari crash, but it does have video. Comedian Eddie Griffin, driving in a charity event at Irwindale Speedway, lost control and totaled a $1.5 million Enzo. Oops.

Yeah...I saw a clip of it on Entertainment Tonight.

I'd sure hate to be the OWNER of that car!

I'd had to be the INSURER. They don't make those anymore. Everybody who owns one just saw their value go up.

On the bright side, Eddie Griffin finally made me laugh.

I don't know who Eddie Griffin is, but "brother can't drive" is sure to end up being quoted over and over again.

Yeah, and I was hearing someone talk about the value going up considerably.

I talked to a friend of mine, and he said that if the damage is significant, Ferrari won't sell them any repair parts. The front end is all carbon fiber. If it was able to be repaired, the history would follow the vehicle and significantly reduce any resale value (it's a small car world after all).

According to the article I read the owner has already said it's totaled.

From today's paper:

The Web site TMZ.com suggested the whole thing might be a marketing ploy, noting that footage shows a man who is standing nearby doesn't flinch as the car hits a concrete barrier. "It's pretty interesting," TMZ adds, "that after the crash Griffin joked it up."
