Henry Fonda Theatre

I need some advice, info, etc.

I am going to a show at the Henry Fonda Theatre. I did a mapquest and found many motels within a quarter of a mile {walking distance}.

Is anyone familiar with this area? The motels nearby? {I won't ask how if you are.... ;) }

The show starts late, hopefully rocks full and hard and runs late. Should I not stay so close? I do have a place over on Beverly that I think is alright but I thought staying close would be more handy.

Help!

I'm inclined to say stay on Beverly and pay for the taxi. Beverly and what, though? The Fonda is in the middle of the dark end of Hollywood, not what I would consider a safe walking distance from anything that late at night. What's the show and when will you be in town?

See, you description of the area is just what I needed to hear. LOL Thanks. I will NOT stay within walking distance just by your description.

I am going with a friend to see the Queens of the Stone Age.

I have stayed at a place on Beverly and Laurel. At the end of Hollywood, just the tip of Beverly Hills. Sort of kitchy type of place. Oh, and some tell me that isn't a word but that is what I use to describe it. :D

Thank you so much for getting back to me on this. I am pretty excited.

Have you been to this theatre? Someone told us it only holds 1200. So...I will either have a great view or be squashed by 1198 people.

I've worked at this theatre. Big main floor, I'm sure the seats will be out, so it's standing. See if you can get up into the balcony, might be a better, less squishy view. Beverly and Laurel is cool, you could actually explore the neighborhood after dark. If you stay into the next day, visit the Farmer's Market. Been there since the mid-30's and very, how you say, kitschy. A couple of years ago, they built this great huge shopping area on the back end of it, called, "The Grove." Its got a trolley that's only slightly more impressive than the one in Toontown. Apparently, Imagineers were involved in the design of the place, so it's a good extra-curricular Disney thing you can do while you're here. Have fun, PM me if you want to meet at the Farmer's Mkt.

'Kitschy'. Okay, that looks more like it sounds. :snap:

Wow, how cool! You've worked there! Wow, didn't expect that type of answer. I do bet the seats will be out. So, there is a balcony. That is also very important to know. Now what I need to know is if the tickets my friend has are GA or seats....our 'Velvet Revolver' seats were in the balcony. We had to sneak down to the floor.... ;)

I wish that I could venture around the next morning. I am sneaking off to see the show {well, not sneaking, they will know where I am and what I am doing but I am only being given a short pass  }.

I'll probably drive up that night, see the show, go to the hotel, get up early and hit the road. My friend and I plan to be home to pick the kid up from school. :(

I am lucky to be staying over. The original idea {from the Hubster} was that I had to come home that night!!!

My original idea was to stop at Disneyland on the way down....

Thank you so much for the info and the offer!

Thanks, MerryPrankster!

Well, good news and bad news. Josh Homme, the lead of QOTSA has fallen ill in Paris. They have had to cancel shows until he clears up a lung infection! Bad bad stuff. Coughing up blood.

While I really really wanna have fun, I don't want to see him on stage unless he is 100%. He is one tough MF so I think he'll be there. I hope.

Anywho, this girl is gonna have to chill. I think this would help.
