Spring is here!!

Yesterday the mercurey hit 80 in Portland! I spent a few hours wandering the Pearl, and people were out and about in droves!

Portland is a town filled with public fountains that invite play. Jameson Square, just a few blocks from me, has one of the most kid-friendly of these fountains. It was filled with kids of all ages yesterday - great fun to watch!

see you at the zoo

Spring you say?

Here is what I woke up to this morning and no, that ain't cherry blossoms covering the ground.

Apparently I will have to wait a bit for spring.

We are having an early "June Gloom" here in the OC. 70* and cloudy. Hey, at least it's not snow or heat! ;)

My favorite is the Keller Fountain...although the Salmon St. is safer for kids.

Of course, some of the best fountains are those little ones called Benson Bubblers:)

Spring is def here, too. Not that we get much of a spring. For the next couple of weeks it will be warm enough outside for shorts, but not enough for a/c. After that it will just be hot.

Salmon Street is still a little intense for 2-6-year-olds. Besides having some pretty high pressure streams, it tends to fill up with rowdy older kids. Jameson Square is great for the preschool crowd.

A great secret Erin and I found is the Lovejoy Fountain. Secluded evough that even on hot summer days there's usually not many people there.

No - find it yourself!

Found it:)

I have an 11 year old now...so Salmon St. is perfect for him(although he actually prefers the one at the Rose Quarter). Wish I would have known about the Lovejoy 3 or 4 years ago as we did the fountian thing a lot more back then.

I'm there with you.

We had more snow on the ground on Easter than we did on Christmas.

Apparently the first thing our 4 year niece from Anchorage said upon arriving at LAX and going outside was, "No snow!!!"
