the ongoing car saga
 

because this now seems to be my daily grind, we're in the Daily Grind. Ugh.

So, this morning, my office mate drove up so he could follow me back down here to the mechanic of choice and get the car in the shop for the engine/manifold repairs. I hop in the car, the engine cranks and won't turn over. He tries, no go. So we drive back down here and now calling on his AAA (it's been on my list to renew......) so we can have the monster towed 22 miles for the repair.

Providing we get the thing down here tomorrow, I should have a running vehicle by Friday or Monday. The irritating thing is that I've not had any trouble moving the vehicle for street cleaning, this morning, who knows. Just another day in the paradise known as car ownership! ;)

Sorry to hear of your car woes. Each time you start the car, it may take up to 20 minutes for the alternator to recharge the battery. If you haven't driven the car for a few weeks, other than to move it for street sweeping, the battery is slowly getting discharged. How old is the battery? Anything over 5 years is suspect, you can get them pretty reasonable at costco. Check the battery connections, make sure they don't look like they have a bunch of corrosion on them.

How do I know this? I had the same problem this morning with our van :blush: I drove it to work today to charge the battery.

Nope, the engine and everything was fine, at least electrically, no "click click" of a dead battery. It was almost like it was flooded. Anyway, working on getting the tow arranged...once it is in the shop, I'm hopefull I won't have any more surprises.
