Wicked was, well, WICKED!

Saw Wicked tonight. Well done! The story line was very interesting, sets were great, acting and signing top notch. The Pantages is really beautifull.

The only complaint is how poorly prepaired they are for intermission. I don't think 1/4 of the people who wanted to got to use the restroom or got served refreashments.

We also got to see some of the Hollywood sights we've never had time to see. The Hollywood Entertainment Museum, see a movie at the Chineese Theater, and had lunch at the Pig 'N Whistle. We made a day of it.

If you haven't seen Wicked yet, I'd recomend it. If you have, what'd you think?

We went to see "Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf" with Kathleen Turner, and we got tipped off by a patron that you can order and pay for intermission drinks before the show, then your drinks are just waiting at the side of the bar covered with a napkin with your name.

Saved a LOT of time in a show of 3 hours with only 2 10-minute intervals !

BTW: I'm GREEN with envy over Wicked. I so wanted to see it, but time didn't permit. I hear it's "Popular".....

I saw the touring production of Wicked in Tampa about a month ago. I couldn't be happier with the one short day I spent watching this wonderful show. Also, once Elfaba let her hair down, I was surprised at just how fetching a green woman can be.:D

How long is it playing at the Pantages? If I find myself in town, I would certainly go again.

I enjoyed Wicked very much. But when I recently saw it again, though it was a treat to visit the gorgeous Pantages, I was struck again with how really weak I find the second act.

A paucity of songs and plot ... just a lot of wrap things up, isn't-it-cute how we tie in with The Wizard of Oz, and three tiny song lyrics to incidate any sort of change from completely sympathetic Elphaba to anything even remotely resembling the Wicked Witch of the West.

Perhaps the point of the musical is that Elphaba is not Wicked ... but that's not the point of the novel, where she does decidedly become true to the name of the piece and her infamous reputation in pop culture.

Also, though I can understand why a musical would not want to add a bunch of characters in the second act ... considering there was sooo much of the story cut from this section of the tale, and the most interesting parts at that ... I find it especially disappointing that the the post-intermission show was so threadbare.

That said, the show is very entertaining. The costumes are marvelous. And, now that I purchased the CD in the lobby, I can't get the songs out of my head.

My only addition is that the first 5 minutes were a little weak (I remember thinking "oh, this is going to be long and tedious"), but then it picked up.

I've got to suffer through this horrible thing 3 more times before the end of the year, oh... how... TERRIBLE ;)

That was my same thought the first time...is it going to be all this gospel-opera? barf! Then it totally redeemed itself. I have seen it 3 times now.

What is This Feeling?, Not That Girl, and Defying Gravity are my favorites. And of course who doesn't like Popular. Amazing show. It is the top played album on my iPod. Iti s great for roadtrips, vacuuming and working in the classroom.

Was your Fiero totally adorable? He usually is.

I have yet to see it. I doubt it's something I'd see by myself. I really don't like Wizard of Oz (Hides) so I doubt I'd like this much.

Pantages is a beautiful theatre. I saw Les Miz there. 2nd row balcony. Amazing stuff.
