Apparently my website has a virus

and my host is lunarpages. I got a note from someone who visited and who is using a virus program other than McAfee or Norton.

This is what they say is on my site:

I use McAfee on my PC and I scan weekly and nothing has turned up. I will check at home tonight for this specific file to clean the PC. Any suggestions on an alternate virus program to double check?

This is the first I've heard, and I'm not sure what I need to do about the html pages on Lunarpages. I guess I had better scan my PC first, but I sure don't notice anything slow or weird about my pc's performance.

Umm, that sounds like their problem, not yours. I just visited your site and notice no issue. And their virus scan can't detect a virus on your site, only viruses on their systems. I wouldn't worry about it.

Try also AVG. It is a free virus program that had caught items that Norton misses.

Glad I read your reply, GD.

I was concerned as Snowflake said she scanned for viruses' and nothing. Same here and that worried me.

I trust my scans. Sure. Mostly.

Thanks GD and Kevy.

I use McAfee, and will use the above to scan tonight to see if anything shows up.

This person is also on AOL, so I immediately distrust anything they turn up. ;)

A wise policy.

Most likely the person who sent that has a virus or adware that's popping up bogus warnings like that to get them to click a link that will in turn download more viruses/adware.
