Lloyd Alexander

Lloyd Alexander, beloved author of The Black Cauldron died yesterday at age 83. :(

I remember as a kid reading his entire Prydain series. In fact, The Horned King, was the book that really introduced me to High Fantasy. It was the second "fantasy" book I had ever read, the first being The Hobbit. From there was born my love of fantasy and magic. :D

So goodbye Lloyd you shaped my life in ways I cannot begin to explain.

Those are terrific books, and I do hope a really good adaptation of them comes along some day.

I didn't discover the Prydain series until I was an adult but I really enjoyed them.

How sad.
:(

I love the Prydain books. Loved them as a kid and love them now.

RIP, Mr. Alexander.

:( Mr. Alexander, you will be missed. In your honor I will only suggest your books to all my patrons.

I saw this on the news the other day.

You will be missed Mr Alexander. I read your books in fifth grade at the urging of my teacher.
Devoured them, and then found out the Black Cauldron was in the works.
My stuffed Gurgi came out of hiding in your honor, and my son will be recieving your books soon.
Rest well.
