Home Alarm Systems
I had a door to door salesman visit me to "talk about my alarm system". I told him to go fly a kite because I was not going to discuss the details of my home alarm system with anyone. But, before I did that, he was talking about the advantages of a cellular connected system as opposed to the standard phone line system.
Of course, i need something else to think about.........anyways, I'm sure there is at least one person on this board who can give a decent overview of the advantages/disadvantages of a phone-line connected alarm vs a cellular connected alarm. |
If I'm remembering this right, we have a phone line system with a cellular backup. Recently, however, we got a notice from ADT saying that under a new law, cellular carriers did not have to support alarm systems and ADT was getting the boot. We get to pay $200 for whatever fix they had in mind. I guess I should read the letter.

With a cell phone you are only allowed to get robbed on nights and weekends.

Be careful with door-to-door alarm salesmen. We have had a string of scam artists using that "line" to find out if you have an alarm and whatever details the homeowner throws in, to come back and steal everything in sight.
