Buh Bye Rove

I can't believe this hasn't been posted yet.

Rove steps down.

:) :) :) :) :) and :)

What's up with that? Why isn't he sticking it out 'til the end? What gives?

My thinking is that he is a political operative and planner. And if he's still in the White House he can't try to hitch his wagon to the next star.

If the '06 election had gone better I bet he would have moved on almost immediately.

scaeagles 08-13-2007 06:44 PM

Exactly. He isn't a policy advisor, he's a political advisor. He isn't going away, and knowing that Fred Thompson has had (I think) three different campaign chairmen even prior to declaring that Rove may be heading his way.

I sincerely doubt stepping down is a political move*, but whatever floats your boat. I'm just happy to see him go, even if only for a while. Time will tell if he has any political influence left- he's the face of a failed presidency, and I have my doubts as to whether or not anyone out there is stupid or desperate enough to add him to their staff.

*Unless political forces have maneuvered him into resigning, of course. I mean to say that it doesn't seem like a tactical move on his part, but who knows?

Alas, poor Turd Blossom...

I'm sure he already has a candidate lined up to bring his particular brand of nastiness. He isn't happy unless he is devouring puppies or wreaking havoc on the Campaign Trail. And of course someone will hire him. If he could get an inarticulate simian like W into the White House, imagine what he could do with a sentient life form.

Well, I do see the position that he's got nothing left to really do with Bush. He can either get behind a candidate in the coming months, he could take a little break, he could go into consulting.

I'm not really worried about what kind of move it is - in fact, I hardly care at all. If it wasn't a Karl Rove as Bush's advisor, it would have been someone else, and someone else, and someone else.

Rove and Thompson, a match made in... Um... not heaven. They're perfect for each other.
