John Lennon remasters on iTunes

Maybe I'm just late to noticing this, but I finally perused the iTunes store and noticed a new John Lennon collection. I'm excited - totally and completely excited. I know that not everyone was digging what he did post-Beatles, but the music, even some of Yoko's stuff, has a warm place in my heart, reminding me of my mom when I was little and times were good. Double Fantasy is the one of first records I remember really loving, especially "(Just Like) Starting Over" and (I can imagine the gasps now), "Kiss, Kiss, Kiss." I'm sure I helped to wear the grooves in those records down deep.

Mom played pretty much all of his stuff regularly and though the old LPs are lost to time, they're still in my head. I was very excited with the Instant Karma project for Darfur, and I had hoped that it would bring a new excitement for his solo work.

EEK!

YAY!

I've been meaning to get the Instant Karma record. I've never been a big Beatles fan (gasp) but I adore Lennon solo and, I too have a special place in my heart for Double Fantasy. I know the iTunes downloads contains stuff that's not on the CD, damnit. I hate not having "hard copy".

Yes, but once you download, you can make a hard copy!

I know it will hurt downloading something from iTunes ;)

I love Double Fantasy, too.

Actually, John Lennon material was just added a couple of days ago.

McCartney's sole material was added a couple of month's ago, Ringo's solo material will be added later this year, and there is no plan's yet for George's solo work being made available.

And of course, still no Beatles stuff yet.

But, might I add, The Ballad of John and Yoko is NOT there.
I looked yesterday.

Unlikely that "The Ballad of John and Yoko" will be up anytime soon. :( It would be nice of them to resolve all of that since I'd like to do a little purchasing of missing Beatles tracks.

I'm so happy that others loved Double Fantasy. Most people just give me cross-eyed looks that I'd listen to anything Yoko had to sing or screech. Perhaps Lennon's solo stuff is what made my current tastes so diverse.

Well, true, I had just for some reason thought, just maybe, it would be there... just maybe.

Alas.

Now mind you, I downloaded plenty thank you.

Did you get the Album for Dafur?

THANK YOU for that reference. I'm going to download tonight. I love Lennon and the Beatles!

I'm confused. The John Lennon remasters are available on CD as well right??

Cuz remastering things and then only releasing it in the crappiest of the crap formats, mp3, is beyond idiotic.

I don't believe that music purchased from iTunes is in the MP3 format, although iTunes does support MP3.
