Damnit. I can't do a midweek show this week. I am still trying to recover from our NY trip last weekend.

Some day, I WILL see Mutaytor!

Yes you will - we've got to have a LoT contingent at a Mutaytor party.

Wow.

For the longest time, I have been seeing Matt's posts about Mutaytor and thought, "Not for me." Thinking that it was some heavy metal experience like GWAR or something like that, I dismissed the idea of ever seeing Mutaytor. I was wrong in doing that. I should have gone long ago and this should have been my third experience at Mutaytor along with Matt. I loved this show.

It's really hard to explain what this was I saw last night. It was a combination of the following: rock concert, George Clinton funk fest, burlesque show, cabaret show and Cirque du Soliel lite. And on top of that there were three drummers, harlequin clowns, "fire" dancers and a Mac laptop.

I felt oddly at home at LA's Crash Mansion last night. The building inside and outside is painted completely black. And like my aquarium at home, with black gravel and a black background, the colorful fish stand out in front of the dark. And there were some colorful fish there last night. Everyone there and in the band, seemed to be outcasts from society but when they came together as a congregation of Misfit Toys it all seemed to make sense. I couldn't come decked out like CoasterMatt, in his leopard wear and elevated combat boots, because I came straight from work. But next time, I will be prepared. And, to everyone there, it didn't matter what you wore. Even a polo aloha shirt and jeans fit in there.

The point of everything last night was that people should have a good time. From the music to the dancers to the acrobats and even a painter that painted on stage to music... it was all about enjoying yourself. And I did.

As I danced, I was thinking that this show was totally a Nirvana Man show. I mean, lesbian hula hoop dancers and a burlesque section where the women dancers tear off each other's clothes... I mean come on, sir. You need to see this show.

And as the dancers took their places strattling chairbacks on stage, one looking exactly like Liza Minelli from Cabaret, I thought Not Afraid and Euromeinke need to see this show.

And as Matt and I ran into someone that looked exactly like Steve, we both thought that this place seemed to be iSm's long lost travelling circus that he abandoned at some point. ;)

Anyway, my butt's firmly placed on the Mutaytor bandwagon.

Everyone should see at least one Mutaytor show. Anyone who won't go is a fool, like I was.

:)

Wait a minute... nobody mentioned that there would be a Mac laptop. Now I HAVE to see Mutaytor!

AND it was gray! A must see.

I also forgot to mention that I don't know if this is standard for a Mutaytor show, but the sound system was the best sound system I have ever heard.
:)

The show let out at about 1 or 1:30am. I got home at about 2:15am or so.
I'm so freakin' tired right now.
:D

Sounds like a great time. Hopefully they'll have a show that isn't on a school night one of these days.

Hence why I did not go. We are WAY too busy at work right now for me to try to squeeze in a show with these hours.

I can honestly say it was worth it, but it does kill my Friday night plans. I think I will crash as soon as I get home...
